This policy explains how Social Cangaroo (“we”, “us”) handles personal data when you visit socialcangaroo.com or get in touch with us. We decide why and how that data is used, which makes us the “controller” of it.

02What we collect
This website has no accounts, no sign-up and no contact form. The data we handle is limited to:
- What you send us. If you email us, we receive your email address, your name if you give it, and whatever you choose to tell us.
- Analytics data, only if you accept analytics. Pages viewed, approximate location derived from your IP address, device and browser type, language, how you arrived, and how you interact with the page. This is collected by Google Analytics and is off unless you opt in.
- Server logs. Our web host automatically records your IP address, the time, the page requested and your browser type for every request. This happens whether or not you accept cookies.
We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal data through this website, and we do not use it to make automated decisions about you.
03How we use it, and why

06Transfers outside the UAE
Google and our hosting provider may process data in countries other than the UAE, including the United States. Where that happens we rely on the safeguards those providers offer and that applicable law recognises, such as contractual protections. You can avoid the Google transfer entirely by declining analytics.
07How long we keep it
- Emails: for as long as needed to deal with your enquiry and any resulting work, then deleted or archived as the law requires.
- Analytics data: no longer than 14 months, the maximum period our analytics property allows.
- Server logs: for a short period set by our hosting provider, for security and troubleshooting.
- Cookie preference: up to 6 months, after which we ask again.
08Your rights
Under the UAE Federal Decree-Law No. 45 of 2021 on the Protection of Personal Data, and (where it applies to you) the GDPR or UK GDPR, you can ask us to:
- tell you what personal data we hold about you and give you a copy;
- correct anything that is wrong or incomplete;
- delete it, or restrict how we use it;
- stop processing it, including withdrawing consent you gave earlier;
- move it to another provider where that applies.
Email info@socialcangaroo.com and we will reply within a reasonable time, and in any event within the period the law requires. We may need to confirm who you are first. If you are unhappy with how we have handled your data, you can complain to the relevant data-protection authority — in the UAE, the UAE Data Office — though we would appreciate the chance to put it right first.
09Security
The site is served over HTTPS and we keep the data we hold to a minimum, which is the best protection there is. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee that email or the internet is, so please avoid sending sensitive information by email.
10Children
This website is aimed at businesses and is not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you think we have, tell us and we will delete it.
11Links to other sites
The site links to our social profiles (LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok), to Google Maps for our address, and to the website of our developer. Those services have their own privacy policies and we are not responsible for them. Following a link takes you off this site.
12Changes to this policy
We will update this page when our practices change and revise the “last updated” date above. If a change affects your cookie choice, we will ask you again.
